Plasmaferesis
Plasmapheresis is a method by which blood is completely removed from the body, processed so that the white blood cells, red blood cells and platelets are separated from the plasma and immediately these concentrated cells are returned to the patient without the plasma, but with fluids of plasma replacement (SS0.9% + Citrate ACD-A). (Plasma – the organism quickly replaces).

WHAT DOES THE PROCEDURE CONSIST OF?
The plasmapheresis procedure consists of placing a catheter in a peripheral line of the patient. Through which the blood is drawn and conducted by the magistral lines distributed in the Hemofenix machine towards the filter that separates the plasma from the cells (red, white blood cells, platelets). Duration of the procedure approximately 1:30 min. (+/-).
The canalization of a common character in a peripheral venous route has allowed the rapid handling of the PLASMAFERESIS procedure. The simple line filling system facilitates the start-up work in just “5 – 10 min. GGZL) Hemofenix has been used in emergency and disaster conditions. The routine and frequency of the procedure is determined by the type of proteins or pathological substances to be eliminated according to the clinical picture (scheme). This procedure is performed under the supervision of experienced medical and nursing staff.
The use of sodium citrate as an anticoagulant allows plasmapheresis to deal with DIC (Disseminated intravascular coagulation syndrome) even in the presence of parenchymal hemorrhage (erosions of the stomach, uterus, abdominal drainage, thoracic cavity and hemoptysis, etc.)
The Plasmapheresis equipment gives the possibility to perform hemoabsorption and hemocarboperfusion (method of rapid elimination of cholesterol).
